Set to launch on April 1, the Minimal collection was created with eco-friendly methods in an effort to reduce the company’s carbon footprint. Earlier this year, Frank And Oak Co-Founder Ethan Song stated his commitment to becoming a more sustainable brand by having the majority of their products made with eco-friendly methods.
The collection will include pieces made from various materials that are considered a more sustainable shopping option such as 100 percent organic-cotton knits, spring hoodies and sweatshirts for men that combine organic cotton with recycled polyester, and feminine dresses, jumpsuits, and separates made of sustainably grown Tencel. While the creation of one pair of jeans can usually take up to 7 bath loads of water to create, Frank and Oak’s hydro-less denim uses less energy, less water, and fewer chemicals than standard methods. Earlier this year, the Canadian company raised $20 million CAD in financing for it to advance its digital and technological features. The retailer also announced plans to continue to expand its product offering and invest in its supply chain. Founded in 2012, Frank and Oak launched as an e-commerce-only brand for men. The company has since expanded into brick-and-mortar, as well as into womenswear with the launch of its first women’s collection in Fall 2016. The company operates over 16 stores across Canada.
